Summary
The Opt-In or Opt-Out feature gives the customer the ability to say whether or not they want to be included in future email communication from you as the Company or Brand. This information is accessible to you via a CSV export as noted below.
To Enable
As a Corporate Admin, click on "Events" and then click into " Event Customers".
Here you will see a list of all individuals who have been entered into the system as Customers.
Select the checkbox called "Allow Email Opt", and then select "Update" to make this change.
Once enabled, any time a customer inputs their information, they will be prompted to Opt-In or Out of receiving emails. The default option is "in", so customers would need to uncheck the box to opt-out.
Update/Edit the Opt-In Copy
Once this feature is turned on, you have the ability to update the copy a customer sees with this checkbox. To do so, click on "Settings" in the sidebar and go to "Translations".
Search for the following two templates:
- templates > events > details > signup > email_opt_html
- templates > appointments > enter_info > email_opt_html
An easy way to do this is to use Command + F to bring up "find" and search for "email_opt".
Once found, click "edit" on the right to change the copy.
Export to CSV
If the customer unchecks the box, Brickwork will signal that this person opted out of email communications within the "Customers" CSV export. Under the email_opt column, TRUE means a customer has opted-in, whereas FALSE means a customer has opted-out.
- The Customers CSV can be accessed via "Event Customers" > "Download CSV".
